Located along the Mekong river in the southern province of Vĩnh Long, Vietnam are the trees of largest member of the citrus family, Red Pomelo. Peak harvest for these exotic fruits is November to January. Known for their thick pith, large size and pink/red pulpy flesh, these fruits are very durable and resistant to disease or insects. Prized for their grapefruit-like taste and texture without the bitterness, Red Pomelo has a pleasant sweetness with undertones of mandarin.
