Mangosteen Puree Spec Sheet

Sourced from the Cuu Long Province in the Mekong Delta Region of Vietnam, Mangosteen is one of the most prized fruits in the world.  Trees often take from 8-15 years to bear fruit, of which are considered almost sacred to the native people.  The fruit has a thick deep purple rind, which when ripe is easy to cut into to expose the beautiful, snow-white, aromatic fibrous flesh.  They have a texture similar to a cross between a kiwi and a banana and melts in your mouth like ice cream.  A delicately sweet flavor with nuances of lychee, peach and clementine with muscat undertones.  The perfect balance of acidity and sugar once described as the jewel inside the the Faberge egg.  Harvest in this region begins in May and runs through August.
